Fat Yak

I would give 0 stars if possible. Paid $17 for 1 small beef taco which says includes haloumi, however when I took it back as it did not have haloumi, they said it was the grated cheese on top, like mozzarella…

Service attended saw me at counter and proceeded to keep cleaning(?) until a 2nd service person arrived 2/3 mins later. Ordered glass of Prosecco that was 30mm short off the top- no strawberry either for $17. Mentioned that the glass was under size serving and was told “we serve this size” and she walked away. Poor attitude to customer service and under sized alcohol servings- poor form to customers.

Had some time to kill before my flight at Sydney Airport and decided to check out Fat Yak Bar—and I’m so glad I did! I got a seat right by the window with a perfect view of the runway—watching planes take off and land while enjoying a good meal felt unexpectedly calming. I ordered the black bun sliders (mini burgers with black sesame buns), and they were surprisingly delicious! The buns were soft, the filling was juicy, and the fresh greens added a nice crunch. Paired it with a glass of rosé wine—light, refreshing, and just perfect for a relaxing pre-flight moment. The staff were friendly and didn’t rush at all, which made the whole experience even better. Even though it’s inside the airport, the vibe here is super chill—felt more like a laid-back café than a typical terminal bar. If you’re flying out of Sydney and have a bit of time to spare, I’d definitely recommend stopping by Fat Yak Bar. Great view, great food, and a lovely way to wind down before a flight.

Great spot for a quick and tasty meal before a flight! The food and beers were delicious and arrived super fast - exactly what you want at the airport. Tika and the team were really friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Thankyou to Giri working behind the bar. You make a magnificent Espresso Martini!! We had a busy day before arriving to airport and this place gave us that breathing space we needed before our flight. Lovely staff !! Fabulous Garlic pizza as well. Thankyou.
