What people say
Service is a bit slow and I had to ask for cutlery; there is only one person in the kitchen and one person out the front doing POS and drinks. I even had to wait a long time to place an order despite there being nobody ahead of me in the queue. In the kitchen everything is microwaved except for chips. The ingredients seem to be okay, but food is definitely plain to the point of being bland - perhaps a result of being microwaved.
The coffee here is delicious! Stumbled on this place after a bike ride through Newington and now I’ll take any detour to go by there. Haven’t tried the food yet but it’s definitely on the list.
The best part of my experience at the Commons Cafe was Lilla the Barista 🙂. She was warm and welcoming and made a wonderful coffee with latte art on it. Lilla was bright and friendly on a Sunday morning. What a wonderful asset to a business 👏
The coffee is perfectly acceptable and you can sometimes catch some cricket being played, There is ample seating and its a fairly comfortable and relaxed place. Service friendliness can vary but is generally pretty good outside of peak times. have had a few quick bites and a coffee and enjoyed watchjing some cricket practice
