Lena's Cafe and Bar

Not the first time visiting Lens's cafe and bar, but first time taking friends there. My friends bought their dog, so we sat outside. Apart from the traffic noise the table and chairs were clean and comfortable. The food, once we got to order, was delish 😋 and out glass of wine, once it came, was nice and cold on a hot day. My low rating is to the wait staff. And wait we did! We had to go in and tell them we were ready to order. Meals came very quick so well done kitchen people. We had to follow up on the glasses of wine 🍷, and then we had to go inside to order desserts🍨. Three times we tried to get the attention of the wait staff, and all 3 times ignored. They were too busy standing around talking. We even packed the dishes and empty glasses and put them on the spare chair to give us room on the table. Maybe have a talk to the young ones about service and how it keeps people coming back!

Absolutely amazing! First time going, we got lunch while on new years/Christmas holiday. Got Lena’s burger, fish & chips and homemade pancakes. At first it seemed slightly overpriced, but once the food arrived, seeing the size of the serves, they probably undercharged! Servings were big but the perfect size, except the fish & chips were pretty average size; still a great price for the size. Pancakes and burgers were great! They had all day breakfast on the menu and a lot else. Would go again!

Food was alright, however for the service i would not recommend here. There’re are more better options in the same street. The drinks came out pretty fast, however we have waited more than 40 mins for our food. After 40mins of waiting, drinks pretty much all finished, and the waitress said “ they were waiting on the eggs”. We asked for the bill, bill wasnt taken to our table, and when we went out to the counter for the bills to pay again, waitress print out another copy……..I understand it might not seem busy to us, tiny details can definitely change our experience. There could be better training for waiters and waitresses for their service, we’d be happier if someone can check in asking how was service, sorry for the wait, or the meat takes longer to cook instead.

We had a wonderful experience at this cafe.The breakfast was delicious, and the portions were generous for the price. The staff were friendly and provided excellent service. Thank you so much for fulfilling my plating request with “Happy Anniversary” — it made our day extra special. I really appreciate the great food, service, and warm atmosphere.
