Worthing Creek Reserve is a natural dog-friendly park in Erina where dogs are welcome on lead. Bar Botanica is also around 650 metres away if you're after a post-walk drink.
Central Coast Council's "Guide to being PAWSOME!" booklet states: "When exercising in a public place, keep your dog on a lead and under the control of a competent person." "This means when you are outside your home, including on the footpath, your dog must be on a lead — except in designated dog off-leash exercise areas." The booklet also notes that under the Companion Animals Act 1998, dogs are prohibited from schools, shopping centres, beaches (except in designated areas), food preparation areas, playgrounds and wildlife protection areas. This park is not on Central Coast Council's published off-leash list, so the council's general on-leash rule applies. (Source: Central Coast Council — "Guide to being PAWSOME!" This small and pretty park is best accessible from the end of Bannister Drive if coming by car. It is a water retardation basin for Worthing Creek to help prevent flooding downstream. In the 1990s it was landscaped by Council and so has several billabongs, open grassed areas, and many trees. There is a good amount of birdlife. Dogs permitted on leash. Tarragal Glen Retirement Village surrounds the park and the residents pay for the mowing of the park. Council is supposed to upkeep infrastructure but the bridges have been let go and one has been lost to storm damage.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
