What people say
When you think of a local park, you don't need anything big, anything fancy, all you need is space. A space to simply be. The beauty of Blankers-Koen Park should not be understated, the pure simplicity it holds, with proper tree coverage, easy accessibility, water fountain, large open grass and a lovely playground. As someone not from Newington, it was wonderful to be able to experience such an interesting place, that most definitely gives the community character and brings EVERYONE together.
Could be a really good spot but it needs more bins and a clean up. Cigarette butts and just rubbish stop it from being a restful place
Small playground at Blanker Koen Park. There are trees for a bit of coverage from the sun. There is also a small lawn, the grass is maintained and short but it does have quite a bit of weeds and rough patches. Overall an average park.
Amazingly relaxing at night! Watching the moon over the water as it becomes high tide is quite relaxing
