Nine Mile Beach at Tuncurry is an enormous stretch of sand where dogs can run off-leash from dawn to dusk. The scale is the draw — this is one of the longest dog-friendly beaches in NSW. The ocean is wild and unpatrolled, so it's best for dogs that enjoy a big run on the sand rather than swimming. Dogs must stay 50 metres clear of patrolled swimming areas.
Off-leash dawn to dusk in the designated section (most of the beach). On-leash in the marked southern section between 5am–9am and 5pm–8pm; prohibited in the marked northern-tip zone; stay 50 metres from patrolled swimming areas.
