Gundog Estate is a winery in Pokolbin where dog access has not yet been confirmed — it's worth checking before you visit.
Had an absolutely fantastic wine tasting session at Gundog Estate! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a relaxed yet refined vibe that made the whole experience feel special. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, taking the time to explain each wine’s flavour profile, history, and pairing suggestions without ever feeling rushed. Every wine we sampled was beautifully crafted and full of character — you can really taste the quality and care that goes into each bottle. The setting itself was stunning, making it the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy premium Hunter Valley wines. Highly recommend for both seasoned wine lovers and anyone just starting their wine journey. We’ll definitely be back!
What a beautiful little winery. We were helped by an amazing gentleman Graeme with expert knowledge of the wines and region, he was honest, welcoming and generous with his time. The wines here are delicious 🤤 make sure you work your way through to the muscat (it’s worth it, in Graeme’s words pudding in a glass and it really is). There are some big brands in the Hunter Valley but this should be on everyone’s list to stop at. Will definitely buy more of their wines and took away a healthy supply of whites, reds and the muscat to enjoy. Thank you
What an exceptional small boutique cellar door with friendly staff and more importantly, great tasting wines. Highly recommend a visit if in the Hunter.
Cherie was on her 2nd shift and paid close attention to our preferences when we went in for a wine and cheese tasting. it was lovely to chat to her and her dark haired boss. There was a third woman who served us well but gave us suggestions before we told her what we were looking for in our tasting and was a bit short with us when we changed our minds on wines. We purchased the blue moon cheese (beautiful, would recommend) as well as the the hills Shiraz.
Well after many years since we were last at Gundog Estate it was great to be back at this lovely little place in Pokolbin in the Hunter Valley. We decided to stay for a wine tasting here and would like to thank Debora for her wonderful hospitality and a great chat. I would definitely recommend going to this small but nice quaint little place for some nice wine. I recommend you buy a bottle of their Musket.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
