Jack Shanahan Reserve is a well-regarded dog-friendly park in Dulwich Hill where dogs are welcome on lead. You'll find BBQs nearby, while The Eate Restaurant is around 550 metres away for an easy post-walk drink.
Inner West Council's "Dog exercise areas" page states: "By law, dogs must be on a leash in public places unless the area is a designated off-leash area." This venue is not listed as a designated off-leash area on Inner West Council's Dog exercise areas page.
BEST SKATEPARK. Has public toilets open early - late, tennis/basketball court, BBQ facities & undercover seating, plus ample skate space which happily caters to all age groups and skill levels simultaneously. Bonus location adjacent to Dulwich Hill Light Rail. This is a fabulous resource for Dully and is an excellent example of wasteground repurposed for the public rather than passed to overseas developers.
The basketball ring needs to be put somewhere else as it interferes with the tennis players...perhaps build a concrete patch and put the ring adjacent to the courts so both can be played simultaneously
It is a really cool place and there are plenty of other people to interact with, also the place is a great place to train if you are inexperienced.
Good place for reading a book and relaxing :) there's a barbecue area and a big skating pit. Just beside the Dulwich Hill train and light Rail stations. It is not a big and exceptional place but is enough for a resting moment 🏞️
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
