Was debating to give this place a 4 star But was ultimately won over by how delicious the sandwich and home made ice tea was. Reason being is the sandwiches in the display case are a lot larger than what you actually get, Nether the less, they are very good! I’d toast mine a little longer, but besides that the vibe, style and food is definitely something that’s needed more in the mountains. Feels like an actual cafe from this decade.
I really wanted to like this café. The atmosphere was great, and I loved the menu. However, I ordered an iced oat latte for takeaway, and it was $9.50, which I think is a bit pricey (especially since it only came in one size and it was roughly the same size as a soft drink can). I would be able to justify the price if it were bigger or filled to the top?
The Mumma’s Meatball was delicious — easily one of the best focaccias I’ve had in the Mountains. Staff were lovely and made us feel very welcome. I really appreciated that the sandwiches are made fresh throughout the day, with only a few ready at a time because they sell so quickly. Fresh, tasty, and worth the stop!
I was initially excited to see what looked like an upmarket sandwich spot opening locally, so I visited twice shortly after they opened. Unfortunately, the experience fell short. The sandwiches are disappointing and feel overpriced for what you get. On my first visit I ordered the Drunk Parma and was surprised to learn the sandwiches aren’t made to order but are pre-made and kept in a deli display fridge. The Parma was soggy after being grilled in the bread and lacked the freshness I expected. On my second visit I tried the Roman, and there was barely anything inside. It was mostly bread. At around $20 per sandwich, I’d expect more fillings and better quality. In my view, it doesn’t yet compare to places like Hectors Deli in Melbourne or Good Ways in Sydney. That said, the venue itself has a great vibe and the staff are lovely and welcoming. I hope they refine their approach, because the concept is promising. Good luck!
New cafe serving nice focaccias and coffee. Retro vibes with records playing in the background. Great fit out. Sandwiches had good flavour. Good size for one person. Could have a bit more filling.
