Had a bit of an abysmal experience here. Can’t say I have ever had anything like it- which is upsetting because I was really looking forward to visiting this cafe. First they told me I couldn’t order food yet because the kitchen was too busy and asked me to wait 15 minutes. I’ve never had to wait so I can simply put through an order through but I pressed on in good hopes. I ordered a coffee and attempted to order a few other things but was told that they were all sold out. Decided on a pie- they asked if I want it with wedges or a salad so I asked for wedges. Then they told me that the wedges were sold out and we can just get the pie by itself. Why ask if we want wedges then?? Then after ordering, was told it would be a 20 minute wait. Coffee came out cold. Pie wasn’t anything special- see photo. A 20 minute wait for that!!! Then the table behind us ordered the same thing after us but they got wedges? (pictured). Not sure what happened here, most other reviews seem very positive? Left the cafe very disappointed and wish I had taken the first red flag and gone to another lovely place in Leura.
Stopped for a quick lunch while on a bus tour. The steak sandwich was loaded with flavor, from the juicy meat, beet slices, marinated veg, to the slightly sweet onion jam and tomato compote. Delicious. The pancake with coconut and crumble my family member ordered looked very good, too. Big bonus is that it was a bit off the beaten path so we didn't have to battle 50 other tourists for a table. Lovely garden setting.
Such a gorgeous little spot and the service was lovely. Everyone who worked there was attentive, friendly and understanding that one of us had a dairy allergy and catered to it accordingly. The food was so nice, lots of vegetarian options, but meat also. The fresh juice was perfect. You can make your own, all fresh ingredients and comes out chilled. Very tasty. Everyone on my table agreed. Only one thing, they ran out of hash browns and for a Sunday morning that's a bit odd cause we were all hangin for a hash brown. So maybe make sure you have an over supply of hashbrowns for the weekend ;)
