The Lion and Buffalo is a dog-friendly cafe in Coogee, with dogs welcome in outdoor area. Just 150m away, Popplewell Park (Upper) is a great nearby park for a walk with your dog.
The food was good. My ottoman eggs were fantastic but the jerk chicken was confusing. Chicken was dry but a lot was going on. Still nice. BUT the service was awful. I was chewing my food (mind you, almost finished) and the waitress asked us to move table just to accommodate 6 other people which she could just told them to wait for 5-10min. I thought the question was inconsiderate. We said no and she clearly was annoyed and asked my boyfriend if he was done with food. She abruptly took the plate and his UNfinished coffee. Then walked to another waitress and gossiped about us. I know because the other waitress looked at us when she approached her. We were in no way rude. We just said no because we’re almost finished.
Lovely little spot! The food was fresh and delicious, coffee was smooth, and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. Great atmosphere and perfect for a relaxed brunch.
Stopped in on a whim on my way to Mahon Pool. Didn’t regret it. Lovely miso mushrooms. Friendly, relaxed yet efficient service was the highlight though.
The food literally blew my mind.. Haven’t had any really good brunch in a long time where everything is just perfect **the prawn scrambled egg is to die for **
We had tried this cafe a few years ago, and had some good memories so today thought to give it another go. The food is still awesome and generous, no wonder they have survived covid and all. The Ottoman Eggs were perfection, and the Fried Chicken Sandwich was simple and nice. Surely worth a visit if you havent tried this place before. We dont eat pastries, but boy some of their pastries look so inviting!
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
