I went here for some drinks in the sun on the rooftop on an absolute whim. I have to say what a great place, tucked away just behind the city. The staff were friendly, drinks were great and the food slapped. Happy days!

We visited Woolly Bay Hotel (sitting upstairs) recently and had a very mixed experience. Starting with the positives: the food itself was genuinely delicious. The schnitzel was great, the fish and chips were excellent, and the sides like the garlic & mozzarella bread and mac and cheese balls were all really enjoyable. However, the service and overall experience were disappointing. I had booked a balcony table, but when we arrived, all the tables with “reserved” signs had already been taken by random people. The staff weren’t particularly helpful in resolving the situation and suggested we sit on a couch, which wasn’t suitable, especially as I was dining with my parents. We eventually seated ourselves after the staff disappeared, but right ended up being right next to an extremely loud and obnoxious group. I understand this isn’t the restaurant’s fault, but it did affect the atmosphere. What frustrated me most was something I didn’t realise until after the meal: the gravy I was asked if I wanted which was just a tiny container of sauce... cost an extra $4. I wasn’t told there would be an additional charge, and for the size, it felt unreasonable. Overall, while the food was great, the combination of unhelpful seating management, uncomfortable atmosphere, and unexpected extra charges made the experience far less enjoyable than it could have been.

An old Navy bar that has a revamp. Most of the old sailor memories gone to make way for the new style of pub in the area. Shame, but that's the way of pubs in the area. Good food. Plenty of seating and at times great music. Great range of beers. Second floor for functions and dinning.

Service was good bar and waiters but we ordered a barramundi and spaghetti and kitchen sent only the skin of the barramundi and the spaghetti was gummy and stuck together. Very disappointed about food. We where there before and never an issue but this time was shit. 5 stars for waiters and bar 0.5 stars for kitchen. I got my refund tho but still no gooda.

Four of us sat in for dinner on a Wednesday - we had $20 schnitzel and fish & chips and a $25 steak. All of the meals were fantastic and the. steak was cooked exactly as requested. Great food, great drinks selection, friendly staff and excellent pricing.
