White Rabbit Double Bay

It’s quite average nothing fancy other than a pretty looking wall. Food was ok tasty and warm. I had pouched egg on French toast with Spanish. Good just like home made style. One thing I do t like it the tables all shake. The staff says it’s the tiled pavement. But I would consider change the tables tbh. Because of this I wouldn’t come again or order sourdough. If you want somewhere private and quiet maybe it’s good as the location is just under the hotel.

Just popped in for some tea, which was a mistake. I ordered an iced matcha, and was charged $11 for it, although the menu said $8. I asked why, and the server told me it was because they put it in a take away can. This is true, they do put it in a take-away can. Is that worth $3 to you? Also, why not tell people how much your product costs? Assuming that any $11 cup of tea would be pretty good, and that it wasn't worth making a fuss over, I wandered off. My 8 year old daughter asked for a sip, because she likes matcha, though of course I don't let her have too much. She tried it. Did she like it? No, because, she said, "it just tastes like milk." This was true. It didn't taste like matcha at all. So, if you're into $11 cups of pale green milk, I recommend you try White Rabbit in Double Bay. White Rabbit now tells me that they use an 'imported product', so they have to charge $11 for their matcha. Weirdly, you can get a much better product, for much less money, presumably also using imported matcha, at many places , even in Double Bay. You could try Black Grain or Indigo, for instance. White Rabbit does not explain why they list their iced matcha for $8, but charge $11. I'd assumed it was a mistake, but maybe it was conscious false advertising?

I had a fantastic brunch at White Rabbit, where I tried their granola bowl with panna cotta and Eggs your way . The granola bowl was a perfect balance of crunchy and creamy, with the panna cotta adding a delightful richness that wasn’t too sweet. Fresh fruits and a drizzle of passion fruit sauce tied it all together beautifully. The poached eggs on sourdough were equally impressive—perfectly runny yolks over a thick slice of tangy, toasted sourdough. Overall, a well-balanced and satisfying meal in a cozy cafe setting. Highly recommend!

We arrived at around 11 am and it was busy. We were told 20 minutes but were seated within a few minutes. We all selected breakfast meals. The food came out quickly and was delicious I had a little accident and dropped my phone in my coffee, and it was replaced without me asking. Lovely wait staff too.

Really nice little cafe with excellent coffee and very good food. The selection is really big and the service was fairly efficient given that we came as a group of 10... We didn't have to wait too long and food was nicely plated and well cooked to taste! I had the breakfast burger which was awesome and the serving was huge! My friend had the granola bowl and it looked so pretty and she said it was delicious and generously topped with ingredients... It even came with a passion fruit panna cotta on it. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal here and would come back again!
