Lyne Park is a harbour-side green space in Rose Bay with plenty for families, picnickers and dog walkers. Dogs are allowed off-leash between 3:30pm and 10:30am and on-leash at other times, kept clear of the children's playground. There is shade, sand, toilets, a playground and parking on hand, with the harbour right alongside. A lovely waterfront park for a walk around the off-leash hours.
Off-leash 3:30pm–10:30am. On-leash at all other times. Prohibited: children's playground. Dogs must be under effective control. Owners must clean up after their dogs. Penalty for off-leash in an on-leash area may exceed $330. Source: Woollahra Municipal Council – Walking Your Dog (woollahra.nsw.gov.au/Services/Animals-and-Pets/Walking-Your-Dog)
I love this park. But I wish dog owners would read the signs. No dogs off leash between 10am and 3pm. I have an autistic grandson who is terrified of dogs and this often causes an issue to which I'm abused and yelled at when I mention it. He was chased onto the road by a dog and the owner didn't care.very dangerous.
Lyne Park is a beautiful harbour‑side green space in Rose Bay with lots to offer for families, dog walkers, picnickers and anyone who enjoys being outdoors. The large grassed areas and shady trees make it a great spot for picnics or relaxing with views over Sydney Harbour, and the upgraded playground with its flying boat, double flying fox, water play zone and inclusive elements is a real highlight for kids. There are plenty of facilities including public toilets, picnic tables, sports fields, basketball and tennis courts, plus easy access to the ferry and local cafes nearby. The water access and nearby boat ramps are bonuses for those who want to be on the harbour. Parking can be tricky during busy weekends, and the playground and picnic areas can get crowded, but overall it’s a lovely, family‑friendly park with great harbour views and lots of activities for all ages — definitely worth a visit.
A wonderful harbour side park but no amenities! No public toilets. We travelled with 3 kids from Manly so the lack of amenities was a problem.
Excellent park with sensational quintessentially Sydney views of the harbour. HOWEVER beware if parking. The signage is misleading and on every occasion I’ve been, the ranger is waiting for unsuspecting visitors who have parked unknowingly (due to poor and unclear signage) in spots designated for boat trailers.
Great walk, there is even the seaplanes and restaurants Lyne Park is a large Sydney Harbour foreshore park with a diverse range of recreation opportunities including a basketball court and public tennis courts. The park has large grassed areas, shady trees for picnics and a café. It provides access to Rose Bay boat ramp, a commercial seaplane base, and public and commercial ferry services. Public access to the water for non-motorised watercraft is available via the boat ramp beside Woollahra Sailing Club. The large playground is very popular for families with children. It has both natural and sail shade and includes areas of organic and rubber softfall. The playground features an activity net, a steel cable flying fox, traditional swings, animal rockers, slides and imaginative play units such as a fantasy house and a sea coaster vessel.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
