Walked in for dinner on a Tues and was seated immediately. I went with the full Greek tasting menu for $78 and a glass of wine $19. Olives and pita bread were typical. Taramosalata mullet roe dip was good, just salty, but expected. Saganaki cheese was delicious. Village salad was good. Lamb shoulder was tender and flavorful, came with crispy roasted potatoes. Filo pastry was tasty, not too sweet. Service was good. Very friendly staff. Food came out quickly one after another. No long wait in between courses like for most tasting menus. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and bar seating as well. Clean, dim, medium/large sized restaurant. Overall, great quality food, very generous portions for every dish, reasonable prices, and good quick service. They did everything right. Highly recommend
Popular place. Service is great, they really seem to take care of patrons, but the atmosphere is not quiet at all.. We made a booking for birthday..from the time of booking they kept us informed and also asked about what the occasion was (treated us to a free dessert, which was well appreciated. Thank you team) We were seated towards the bar side which had cozy dim lit lights. Ordered pita, warrigal spanakopita, whole king prawns, salad and oven baked lamb shoulder (small). Food is flavoured well but found it on the saltier side. $50+ for small lamb was a bit on the high side but it was fall off the bone and really well cooked and servings were more than enough for 2 of us. Overall worth a try.
Fabulous. We went to Apollo for my birthday lunch on a recommendation from a friend. It was absolutely lovely. Great food & drinks, great service & a beautiful restaurant inside & out. Will definitely visit again in our next trip to Sydney. Thank you Apollo team for a wonderful birthday lunch & complementary birthday dessert 🙏🏼😊
OK - what can I say about this place other than it is an AMAZING restaurant? I came here with colleagues for a dinner and we got the super Greek set. The pita bread was freshly made and the hummus was delicious, the olives were alright - I have to admit I’m not much of an olive person but my colleagues enjoyed them. Saganaki was good, although it cools down rapidly after taking it out of the pan, so eat it quick! King prawn was done very well, and the chicken souvlakia was tender and well marinated! The lamb shoulder was also a delightful dish, very tender and melts in your mouth. Roast potatoes were good too, crispy on the outside which is what I enjoy. What I loved the most is the orange portokolopita which is an absolute treat - I’d never had anything like this before and thoroughly enjoyed myself. For 90 per pax I think it’s a good value for the amount and quality of food you get. The service was also very good, the staff were attentive and helpful. One thing I’d like to say is that unfortunately while the food and service was good, the food took a very long time to arrive between each dish. If they can get the timing a little faster that would make the whole experience a 10/10.
My favourite restaurant in Sydney! Went for an anniversary with my boyfriend. We were greeted with delicious compliments champagne to start, which was amazing. The staff were attentive and helpful. The food was impeccable. The lamb, Saganaki and prawns were the showstoppers and I would go back tomorrow for it all again. A must visit!
