The Nielsen is a cafe in Vaucluse with an outdoor area. Dog access isn't confirmed, but venues with an outdoor area are often dog friendly, so it may be worth checking. Just 100m away, Vaucluse Bay is a great nearby park for a walk with your dog.
I love the idea of this place. Where it is, how you get there…. But the staff aren’t going above and beyond. My extra hot coffee wasn’t hot. So I ordered a second … you know, you want first weekend coffee of the day to hit the spot!! When mentioning ‘please ensure it’s extra hot’ and lamented that my first coffee of the day was off…. I had no response. I didn’t receive an apology much less a ‘oh have this one on the house’! Why am I paying $7 for something that’s not what I asked for? Is close enough good enough these days? I’m not a hard marker on croissants, despite loving them and having plenty in France but this one somehow tasted floury?? Sorry guys. Not on point! But I love the building. Love the location. And the staff were nice and friendly. So, I’d give it another go.
Pizza was pretty good and we’re currently obsessed with hot honey pepperoni which they had so that was great. Honestly pretty decent portions and not as expensive as I was expecting a takeaway place, at a tourist spot in Vaucluse, to be. There’s no other food choices there so even though it’s standalone, I think it does the job really well. Plus staff were very lovely.
We had the most amazing time at The Beach Shack at the Neilsen for my best friend’s hens! The location was stunning – right by the beach. The staff were so welcoming and made everything feel easy and stress-free, which is exactly what you want when you’re celebrating. The food and drinks were fantastic – fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Everyone in our group kept commenting on how great the atmosphere was - lively but still laid-back. The cake we brought in by La Nipotina was refrigerated well by the venue 🎀
Lovely places, great mix of Australian heritage and modern. Pumping house music components and lovely heritage beach housey 🤷🏼♂️ building. Staff are all super friendly, especially the smiley Dutch lady and Argentinian fella, made me feel very welcome. The view of the harbour here is a delight, a great place to watch the world go by before heading to rose bay via the coastal walk or taking a swim. Today I opted for the first. I also opted for the mushroom pasta, which was scrumptious 😂🤣😂 super tasty.
Been here before the new owners and it was an ok place, now they have made it more prettier that's for sure. Happy with the food and glad it's not silly priced for the location it is in. Probably on a sunny Weekend I wouldn't come here as it would be jam packed, but if you get a chance to visit on a workday then you have a chance to get a good table and enjoy the beautiful beachfront
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
