Easily one of the worst and most over-priced Greek salads in my life. A stunning spot overlooking the beach. Long queue but moved quickly with freindly staff. Food was appalling. Tiny portions. Couldn't have made a worse salad if I had tried. Picture tells it all - sliced tomato, tasteless fetta, cold chicken, three little curls of onion and slightly sweet, soggy wisps of cucumber. This is not what anyone should serve in a professional venue. $77 for two Greek salads wth chicken and a coke (incl. holiday surcharge),
I got a takeaway fish and chips pack here and the fish was surprisingly good, nice crunchy batter but still moist and tender on the inside. It was definitely on the expensive side but I guess part of that cost went to the location.
We ordered the shakshuka and were surprised to find a giant cinnamon stick lurking inside it (see photo). The dish tasted like dry cinnamon and was completely inedible. If you’ve ever wondered what breakfast would be like in a spice cupboard.. this is it. Thankfully the bread was delicious, and we tried to scrape off the eggs because we were hungry… but please do not order this dish. We were also forgotten for cutlery, and then things escalated when the waitress placed the hot shakshuka directly sticking over the table with zero warning, resulting in burn marks on my friend’s stomach. Not the souvenir we were hoping for. Then came the juices. We ordered two juices in takeaway cups. One arrived in a takeaway cup, the other didn’t. When we asked for it to be changed, it was taken away and never returned. After repeatedly asking, it was remade… in a different size. At this point we started joking the place must be haunted, because nothing was going right. Sadly not a great experience - however, the views were amazing and the bathrooms were clean.
Good spot for a quick bite before a swim! The service is fast and the wait staff are friendly. They serve solid pub staples at very reasonable prices for the location. We had the tiger prawn roll with fries, which was great quality and hit the spot. It isn’t "fancy" dining, but it's delicious, reliable, and super handy if you’re spending the day at Nielsen Park. Some feedback on the design of the space - the high top tables (making up more than 50% of the inside seating) aren't very accessible for people with mobility issues. The chairs are difficult to manoeuvre in such a tight space.
I love the idea of this place. Where it is, how you get there…. But the staff aren’t going above and beyond. My extra hot coffee wasn’t hot. So I ordered a second … you know, you want first weekend coffee of the day to hit the spot!! When mentioning ‘please ensure it’s extra hot’ and lamented that my first coffee of the day was off…. I had no response. I didn’t receive an apology much less a ‘oh have this one on the house’! Why am I paying $7 for something that’s not what I asked for? Is close enough good enough these days? I’m not a hard marker on croissants, despite loving them and having plenty in France but this one somehow tasted floury?? Sorry guys. Not on point! But I love the building. Love the location. And the staff were nice and friendly. So, I’d give it another go.
