⚠️ Warning to Local Pet Owners – Aggressive Dalmatian in Wolli Creek Just wanted to share this as a heads-up for other dog owners around Wolli Creek. On Monday and Tuesday morning this week, a Dalmatian with brown spots (off-leash) tried to attack my small, timid Whippet while we were out for a walk. Both times, my dog was properly on a leash and keeping to himself. The Dalmatian charged aggressively, the owner struggled to control it and just stood there. Thankfully, NO ONE was hurt — but only because I had a walking cane with me this time to protect my dog if things got out of hand. It’s the second time this has happened, and it’s honestly scary when you’re just trying to enjoy a peaceful walk. I’m not making a formal complaint yet, but if it happens again, I’ll have to report it to Bayside Council under the Companion Animals Act 1998 (NSW). Please, if this is your dog — for everyone’s safety — keep it on a leash. And for other locals walking their pets. We all deserve to feel safe walking our dogs.

Our favourite park to take our pup. It’s our daily stomping ground. It full of friendly dogs and dog owners that know how to safely socialise their dogs. Its family friendly so great for little kids to run around. The park is separated into four grassy sections. The 2 main grassy sections (one in front of Tempe house) are perfect to let your dogs run around and provide a good vantage point to keep your eye out on your dog and other dogs around you. Keep in mind it’s not an authorised “off leash” dog park, however well behaved dogs are off leash. Please keep your dog on-leash if you and your dog are not comfortable with other dogs, or if they don’t understand how to safely socialise.

This is a beautiful park comprised of part of the land originally owned by Alexander Brodie Spark where he built the now historical Tempe House named after the Vale of Tempe in Greece. There are beautiful walking paths throughout the grounds with gorgeous peek a boo views of the Cooks River. There are several educational plaques erected where you can take a walk and learn a little history of the area. There is also a very well maintained Communal Garden. There’s a nicely shaded area with picnic tables that even has a couple bbqs. It’s dog friendly with waste bags and bins provided to pick up after your pup. There’s a small playground area aimed at the toddler age that’s fenced off. While there isn’t much street parking nearby, it’s close to the Discovery Shopping Centre parking garage where there’s plenty of spaces that’s free for 3 hours. Just turn into Brodie Spark Drive then follow the P signs, and you’ll find it. It’s a lovely space to spend some time!

Not a far walk from Wolli Creek Train Station (approx 10-15 minutes walk) The view is very pretty and this place is perfect for exercising, regardless if it’s a brisk walk, jogging, cycling.. Other people are exercising also, so you will feel safe and sound if you go alone.
