Waverton Park is a harbourside park with off-leash space, walking trails and fine viewpoints across the water. Dogs are welcome off-leash, but not on the sports field when organised sport is being played. There are toilets, a playground, bubblers and fitness equipment on hand, and the trails make for a pleasant walk beyond the open grass. A scenic local spot that works for both a run and a longer wander.
North Sydney is a dog-friendly area and all Council parks and public reserves are off-leash areas, except for bushland areas, playing fields when organised sporting events are in progress, and venues where dogs are not allowed. Dogs must be under effective control at all times. (Source: North Sydney Council — northsydney.nsw.gov.au)
The public facilities are very good, the park environment is very good, the public toilets are clean, and it is only a few minutes walk to the observation deck, where you can enjoy the beautiful views of the Sydney Bridge, CBD, Opera House and Harbor. This is a good place for families and couples to gather, as well as a good place to watch the sunrise and sunset.
Couldn't recommend the hiking trails at Waverton park more. Whether you're walking dogs, with friends or family, or by yourself, this place has fantastic viewpoints and friendly people (:
Waverton Park is such a lovely and peaceful spot. The views over the water are beautiful, especially with the boats scattered across the harbour—it creates such a calm and relaxing scene. We watched the sunset from here and it was absolutely stunning, with soft colours reflecting on the water. It’s a perfect place to sit, unwind, and enjoy the view. Definitely worth a visit.
I’ve visited here a lot in Scouts lol nice views and a good place to have a run or walk! you can also watch kids play their games if u want lol
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
