Had a really good experience here. The food was delicious and the service was great as well. Our server was very friendly and attentive throughout the meal. The Portuguese chicken definitely stood out! super flavourful and cooked really well. Would definitely come back!
We really enjoyed our experience at The Meat & Wine Co Barangaroo. It was recommended to us as a great spot to try kangaroo, and while we managed to get a table without a booking, I would definitely recommend making a reservation as it is very popular. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. When our kangaroo skewer arrived a bit cold—likely due to the strong AC—they quickly warmed it up for us. The meat was served with a great sauce and delicious fries. We also tried the barramundi, but that dish didn't work as well for us; the delicate fish was served with mussels and a prawn sauce that made the "sea taste" a bit too overwhelming, and the potatoes were quite hard. Despite the fish, we liked the atmosphere enough to return for our final dinner in Sydney. My husband had seen the ribs on our first visit and they looked amazing—ordering them was a real hit! They were delicious and the serving size was very generous. I ordered the truffle mac and cheese from the "sides and salads" section, but the portion was huge and I couldn't even finish it. The truffle taste was nice and strong. We also enjoyed the wine selection; we usually don't drink dry wines, but the ones we tried here were amazing. A highlight of the night was the service—our waiter asked if we were celebrating anything, and when we mentioned it was our last night in Australia, they surprised us with a cake! It was such a lovely gesture and a perfect way to end our trip.
We arrived for our booking for 6:15pm, was seated immediately and given set menus. When asked if we are not allowed to order off the Al Acarte menu they had no idea, we had to wait & about 4 seperate staff members had to come up to us and ask us who we are. They assumed we were using a voucher/promo when we weren’t. This was quite frustrating and unprofessional. The Monte Fillet was lovely, mushroom sauce was nice and chunky. Beef tartare was beautiful and flavoursome. Half rack of ribs was a generous portion. The chips are half cooked and no salt you have to rely on the sauce which you pay $6 for. $202 for 2 mains 2 drinks 1 entree. Also why ask for a tip, who does the tip go to? The restaurant that we already pay so much money for? Or to the many wait staff who came to our table confused. The 2 host ladies at the front door love to talk to each other and not pay any attention to their customers leaving.
Omg! I died and went to meat heaven. My meal was absolutely delicious. Cooked medium-rare, I ordered the rump eye, with mash and creamy mushroom sauce. Everything about this was to die for; I’d love to know how you make your mash potato because it was simply divine. We also had the calamari for entree and it just melted in our mouth. This is now my new favourite place. Staff were lovely, greeted us. Answered our questions, service was excellent and everything was well organised and presented.
My amazing partner planned a surprise birthday dinner for me at Barangaroo’s Meat & Wine Co. Firstly, thank you to our server, Bianca, for making the evening extra special. She was incredibly kind and attentive, and made sure we were comfortable and happy throughout the night. I’ve heard a lot about The Meat & Wine Co from friends and colleagues, and I can confirm the food definitely lived up to the hype. The photos speak for themselves. The entire experience was unforgettable, and we will definitely be coming back again for the food and atmosphere.
