What people say
I hosted my birthday here and was treated so so wonderfully. All the staff were exceptional, food was great, such a historic location and all my friends had such a wonderful time. There was a DJ as well which made it all just that little bit better! Will definitely come here again. Thank you for such a fantastic evening. Really grateful !!!
Boutique pub in a great location right across from Wynyard Station. Has several floors and luckily our table was reserved inside on a hot day. Place was buzzing with people by midday. Steak sandwich was great and was a decent serving compared to fish tacos which was more of an entree. Bar stopped serving cocktails after awhile which was strange. Great place to have a Christmas lunch.
A historic, refurbished building which is located on the edge of the modern Barangaroo precinct. Offering a reasonable menu selection, drinks and a good atmosphere. Good for getting together after work.
Great service! Food arrived and the squid was too salty for our tastes so we brought it to the bar staff attention. Straight away they took on board the issue and ordered is a new batch which arrived quickly and was spot on. Well done!
Fair food, standard pub food with limited choice. They won't deviate from the menu. Asked if I could have a fried egg on a burger- was given a quick NO. Service/bar staff could at least smile and pretend they like there work. Was asked if we wanted last drinks at 8.45pm as they were closing at 9pm.....on a Saturday night! After visiting the Sussex a few times over the last couple of months I'm not sure I'll go back again. Food and service poor to very average.
