Really enjoyed the oysters, salmon sashimi, and chargrilled octopus. The apples in the salmon sashimi soaked up the sauce really well so every bite was packed with flavour. Octopus had the texture of meat and cooked well. I couldn't quite taste the crab in the special crab and prawn dumplings, so it was more like har gau. The crispy eggplant was also nice and saucey, it's a good dish to share for more than 2 people cos there were so many and got a bit too rich for me to have anymore. The salted lemonade mixer drink disappointedly just tasted like sprite so recommend getting a different drink. Staff were super friendly and really on it. Food also came out promptly. Heating was also nice and distrbuted, not blasting in one area, so kept nice and warm as we ate outside on the cold night.
If you are looking for a venue with an unbeatable atmosphere and stunning views, Lotus Barangaroo hits the mark perfectly. It’s an ideal spot for a memorable evening, bolstered by a team that provides truly friendly and attentive service. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is lively and sophisticated, making it a fantastic choice for a group dinner or a special night out. However, the experience did hit a slight snag regarding the kitchen’s timing. While the food was delicious when it arrived, the dishes were not coursed out effectively. Unfortunately, because the plates didn’t come to the table together, our first dish was stone cold by the time the final plate arrived, which slightly detracted from what would have otherwise been a flawless meal. Despite the timing hiccup, the combination of the scenery and the warm hospitality makes this a place I’d still recommend, especially if you’re looking to soak in the best of the waterfront. With a little more attention to synchronizing the service flow, this spot would be hard to beat.
We booked a table for four at 5:30 pm on 29 May and had a wonderful experience. A special thank you to the Asian young lady without glasses who served us and spoke a little Mandarin. She was so friendly, attentive, and helpful. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask for her name, but she made our evening truly special.
A refreshing take on modern Chinese cuisine that balances tradition with a contemporary edge. The space is stylish and inviting, setting the tone for a relaxed yet refined dining experience. The menu is thoughtfully curated, showcasing classic flavours presented in a modern way. Each dish is well-executed, with fresh ingredients, balanced seasoning, and beautiful presentation that elevates familiar favourites without losing their authenticity. Service is attentive and professional, striking the right balance between warm and efficient. Dishes arrived promptly, allowing the meal to flow smoothly and making the experience feel effortless. Overall, this restaurant delivers a confident and modern interpretation of Chinese dining elegant without being pretentious, flavour-forward without being heavy. A great choice for both casual catch-ups and special occasions, and a place worth returning to.
Great food, good service and nice vibe. We ordered only three dishes: Scallops, Steamed Baby Snapper and Wagyu Rice Noodles. All the dishes came out quickly and they are delicious. Especially, I enjoyed the snapper. It is a good size for two and it is fresh. There are many restaurants along the walkway and hence competition is high. Lotus is one of the best.
