What people say
If you go to this beach be prepared for ridiculous signage about nesting birds that is arbitrary and confusing. This beach is attached to a dog friendly beach (Huskisson) but there is no signage indicating where dogs are allowed to go or not. You can be fined $400 for bringing a leashed dog here. Luckily got a warning instead of a fine from a ranger. Also ranger proceeded to tell us about a American staffy who killed a woman on the beach which I am not sure how it is related to me walking my dog (leashed) here or the birds nesting??? I bet the council does not care about birds or the woman who died, they just want money from unsuspecting tourists. Better places to visit than this!!
This location offers an excellent environment for families, featuring varying water depths suitable for children of all ages. The shallow areas are particularly well-suited for younger children. The site is equipped with numerous amenities, including covered picnic areas, a playground, restrooms, barbecue facilities, ample parking, and grassy spaces. Furthermore, there is abundant shade available, which is especially beneficial during the summer months.
Awesome place to take kids and spend a day refreshing @ calm waters
Moona Moona Creek is a great family spot with calm, shallow waters for kids and a peaceful vibe for relaxing. The picnic areas, BBQs, and playground add to its charm, and the nearby Huskisson Beach offers more to explore. Simple, serene, and worth a visit!
The river has dark red color and some smell, but some kids were playing in the water. It’s very shallow so good for young kids . Some areas have sharp shell on rocks so be careful when waking in bare feet.
