Great Southern Hotel Berry is a dog-friendly pub, with dogs welcome both indoors and in the outdoor area. Apex Park is also around 300 metres away for an easy walk before or after your visit.
Dogs allowed throughout except the bistro.
Great location for dinner with the afternoon sun on the outdoor deck area, where there are plenty of tables and area is dog friendly too. The chunky beef Pie was pretty good and filling, can't go past a good ol' parmi. Good serving sizes across all the meals we ordered.
Generous parmi! The sauce is excellent, it’s like proper pizza sauce. The chicken, sauce and cheese ratio is also on point. Nice fries. Salad wasn’t too bad either, very fresh. Dog friendly inside.
Took a beautiful drive from Sydney to Berry on Sunday 7 June 2026. Yes it was the long weekend and yes we expect delays. What a disappointing experience we had. We arrived at 1pm and found a table outside. Staff only took plates and glasses away from tables. Never bothered to wipe any tables clean. Went inside to line up to order. 1.40pm, our order was finally taken. 40 minutes to stand and wait to give our order. Went and bought our drinks and sat down. Our food finally arrived at 2.35pm. Drinks were well finished. 2 Steak sandwiches which we compared to our steak sandwiches we had yesterday at the Rooftop at The Glenmore in The Rocks, Sydney. The Great Southern Hotel Steak Sandwiches were served with cold untoasted bread, very fatty meat and cold fries. If they want to know how to cook a Steak Sandwich they should go to the Glenmore - the best you will ever find. Food at the Great Southern was very poor. To be served 1hr and 35 minutes is pathetic. It's not the first busy weekend Berry has ever experienced. It shows the real disregard they have for their clientele and definitely irresponsible service of alcohol. Many tables around us were having a few rounds before food. Hopefully not driving back to Sydney that day. If you can't cater for the masses, find another business. Would never recommend or revisit. One of the worst pub experiences ever! For way of background, this is the first poor food review and experience ever written. We've had bad experiences but this one was poor review worthy. If you are heading to Berry, find another place to enjoy your time and money.
We love this place. Enjoyed all the food we have ordered. Had a great time at the new weekly trivia night on Wednesdays in the beer garden. And great place to watch sport!
Walking up and down Queen Street, loads of places to try but I felt like local pub food. Staff were nice enough but missing the pub vibe here. Very quiet compared to other places along the street. I had the chicken pie, which was tasty and I finished but had only one small piece of dry chicken. Pie crust was crispy. Expensive for a pie - $26 (add the 10% weekend surcharge & cc costs) to be $29.00
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
