Baird Park is a sheltered local park at Stanwell Park, set back from the wind with seating, BBQ facilities and a casual restaurant nearby. Dogs are welcome on-leash, kept clear of play areas and food areas, with the beach and Bald Hill lookout close by. It is a comfortable, easygoing spot for a walk. A pleasant on-leash park near the coast.
Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times in public spaces. Dogs are not allowed within 10 metres of children's play areas or areas where food is prepared or eaten (except outdoor dining areas of cafes/restaurants that allow dogs). Dogs are prohibited from school grounds, childcare centres, rock platforms, wildlife protection areas, and any area with signage indicating dogs are prohibited. Dog owners must clean up after their dogs. Source: Wollongong City Council – Dog Beaches and Parks (wollongong.nsw.gov.au/places/dog-beaches-and-parks)
Nice open and protected from wind park area. Seating and BBQs, has nice casual restaurant. Dogs are often off leashes here, so a small minority may not like this. Sometimes see people flying drones here but more on beach. Beach not netted.
The (unclaimed) World's First Heavy Than Air Box Kites & Aircraft Flight. The thermals & off shore winds make BALD HILL a great place to Hang Glide! Buy a "Robber-Dog" hotdog from Rex JACKSON, former NSW POLICE MINISTER.! No corruption with his very hot dogs. He has removed his bars from his Hot Dog Van.
Nice little coastal park tucked away in the side streets of Stanwell Park. I imagine that it is a local gem that the locals use for dog walking and relaxing. If you are in the area this is worth a visit.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
