Dogs welcome — rules apply•Dog rules

Updated 19 June 2026

Victoria Park is a relaxed green park at Camperdown, a leafy pause between Broadway and the University of Sydney, with a cafe, a playground and BBQ facilities. Dogs are allowed off-leash between 6pm and 8am, seven days a week, kept clear of the pool, pond, barbecue areas and playgrounds, as part of the City of Sydney off-leash program. A handy inner-city spot for a timed off-leash walk.

Dog rules

Dog off-leash allowed between 6pm and 8am seven days a week. Not allowed in pool, pond, barbecue areas and playgrounds. Listed in the City of Sydney dog off-leash areas program.

It was very quiet when I visited, which made for a perfect time with my dog and son. The space is clean, tidy, and the plants are well-maintained. I didn’t use the public toilets or BBQ areas, so I can’t comment on those. However, while the park is nice overall, the pond in the center looks a bit messy and could use some improvement.

A peaceful park which connects to The university of Sydney. There’s also a swimming pool located within the park.

The little corrella are back. The totem pole has been missing for some time now, it still hasn't returned. A nice park to send some time, it's got a pond. There are large variety of birds 🐦 here, there is a playground and free BBQ facilities and seating. This park also has a public swimming 🏊‍♂️ pool which is open even with this cold weather, 🥶 there is cafe/ restaurant in the old gardeners cottage. It’s a cross the road from broadway shopping centre. The pond had no fish, ells or turtles for a long time, from when they drained it for maintenance 🙄 the council claimed they housed the water animals and they would be returned when the maintenance was finished. I saw a female councillor supervising worker last year!!! Happy to say there are now ells in the pond!! Hopefully they return the turtles 🐢 🙏 soon. The only restrooms are in the public pool, the BBQ facilities and children's playground is only a few hundred metres away. I was playing with my nieces and they needed to use the restrooms 🚻 we spoke to pool staff, they were friendly and helpful and let my young nieces use the restrooms 🚻 thank God 😊 for that. Its lush green spaces, open-air swimming pool, and lake make it a fantastic place for relaxation, recreation, and family outings. The park is open 24 hours, which is a great convenience for those who enjoy early morning or late-night strolls. Key Features and Amenities: Grassy Areas: The park boasts generous grassy expanses perfect for picnics, sunbathing, or simply enjoying the outdoors. Open-Air Swimming Pool: A highlight for many, the pool offers a refreshing way to cool off, especially during warmer months. Lake: The picturesque lake adds to the park's charm and provides a tranquil setting. Playground: Families with children will appreciate the dedicated playground, offering a fun space for kids to play. Cafe: For those looking for refreshments, there's a cafe on-site, making it easy to grab a coffee or a snack. Accessibility: The park is generally accessible, with pathways and facilities designed to accommodate various needs. Things to Consider: Popularity: Due to its excellent offerings and central location, Victoria Park can get quite busy, especially on weekends and during peak seasons. Parking: While there's a cafe, parking in the immediate vicinity might be challenging, so consider public transport or arriving early.

Great little park. There is an open air swimming pool in the middle for members, not sure of you can pay as you go. There was diving lessons also going on. The university of Sydney is also located at the top of the park.
