Budgewoi Beach has a designated off-leash dog area running from Ocean Street to about 500 metres north of Lakes Beach Surf Club. Dogs are allowed off-leash on the open sand, where they can run freely and meet other dogs, with parking close by. It is worth bringing fresh drinking water for a longer visit. A friendly, relaxed dog beach with plenty of room to move.
Off-leash is permitted in the designated section of the beach only — from Ocean Street to 500 metres north of Lakes Beach Surf Club. Dogs must be on-leash outside this section. Dogs are not permitted in patrolled or flagged swimming areas, and are prohibited within 10 metres of children's play equipment.
First visit to this off leash dog beach. Was so happy to see dogs running freely and interacting with each other and having a good time like they are meant to. Make sure to take fresh drinking water!
Beautiful beach. Waters are pristine and klue, and sands are perfect
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
