Birralee Oval is a dog-friendly park in Kurri Kurri where dogs are welcome on lead. You'll find shade and BBQs nearby.
Dogs are welcome on-leash at this park. Under the NSW Companion Animals Act, dogs must be kept on a leash in all public areas except designated off-leash zones. Cessnock City Council has six designated off-leash areas — visit council's website for locations.
Great little local park that has some play equipment for the kids, easy to access, good to walk/run and do exercises in, carefree place to take your dog although not fully fenced and not recommended for off leash. Plenty of convenient parking, steps to sit down on if necessary, cannot remember any bins though for rubbish.
Plenty of parking and decent field for soccer. Some tables and chairs around the place
Note to fellow travellers: this is not a rest stop. Two toilet blocks both locked today. Evidently toilets are for sports clubs that use the ovals. There is a little playground under shade sails, and a bench under a tree.
Nice playground for young children with swings and slides plus more, sun shade for those hotter days and seats for Mum and Dad to watch. Next to a track and field area with a 400m track (grass), long jump put, little stadium and shot put/javelin nets area.
We were having a terrific time until we needed a toilet. There are 2 toilet blocks that were both closed - had to pack everyone & everything back up in the car - very inconvenient. Wont be returning.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
