Popped in for a quick fried egg and bacon on sourdough. Ordered easy over fried eggs. What arrived was bacon that was covered in film of muck from the grill including black gritty specs . Fried eggs were dry and crispy on top. Far from the easy over I had ordered. Toast came with no butter. Was the most unappealing looking and tasting breakfast I have had in years. To the owner: no I did not come and complain and ask for it to rectified. I was short on time needed to eat and go. I just wanted a quick easy meal, did not wish to get into a debate about your shocking ability to cook a really basic breakfast. Easier to vote with my wallet, never return and leave a review. You need to up your game mate. For a cafe that advertises having been in business for decades I did not expect this. Wish I had taken a picture. Just can’t get the image out if my mind of that disgusting looking plate that landed on my table.
My wife and I decided to go to Crows Nest on Saturday morning to eat French Toast. We know from visiting the cafe's in the area that the Bean Drinking Cafe speciality is French Toast. My wife ordered 'The Original' French Toast ($23.10) consisting of brioche toast in vanilla egg mix, wild berry compote and maple syrup (without the white chocolate drizzle) and I ordered 'The Ultimate' French Toast ($27.50) consisting brioche toast washed in vanilla egg mix, with melted Biscoff Spread, blueberries, banana, smooth peanut butter, berries compote and Reese's pieces (it also came without the chocolate drizzle). We both love, love, loved the flavour of the meals and their size was just right. Staff were warm, friendly and helpful which is best practice customer service. We washed our meal down with two pots of delicious and tasty, well spiced, Soy Masala Chai Leaf tea, with honey on the side ($17.70). The cafe is really buzzing mid Saturday morning and it seems like the 'now' place to be. Definitely recommended for breakfast.
After paying $21.45 for eggs on toast with extra avocado and receiving equally horrible food and attitude of male staff member never returning back! And do not recommend to anyone else. Avocado was black, wrong kind of toast and when I asked for receipt to make sure why I paid that much I been advised that if I don’t like it I do not have to take it
I ordered a small latte and a big breakfast with bacon swapped for smoked salmon on my recent visit. It was $41 altogether—here’s a photo. As a local, I’ve been to this cafe a few times and always appreciated its charm, friendly owners, and live music on weekends.
We ordered breakfast after our run! Menu is a bit pricey but really big servings. We ordered: Big breakfast - 5/5 - good for 2. French toast - 5/5 - also good for the both of us. Almond flat white - 4/5 Oat flat white - 4/5 The tables are a bit small and the place is a bit outdated.
