Garry Owen Hotel

We've enjoyed a couple of excellent meals here recently. Delicious barramundi, fish and chips and plant based burgers. Staff have been great too. We'll be back!

The food was absolutely delicious! Everything was perfectly cooked — the noodles had just the right texture, and the seasoning of the braised dish was spot on. Every bite was full of flavor and balance. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were really kind too. I definitely want to come back next time with my friends and enjoy it together! 🍜✨

I dropped into the restaurant out the back for a casual meal. It was surprisingly good with lots of choices; both filling or light. I'd recommend it for a good pub meal.

Review scoring: 3 as expected based on price, quality and reputation, ie as expected. 4 better than expected and 2 lower quality than expected. 5 absolutely outstanding in all respects against expectations; food quality and presentation, staff, decor and atmosphere. Amazing local bar with good food. But WHAT SET IT APART WAS THE LIVE MUSIC!!! A wonderfully intimate venue with really, really talented jazz musos. Amazing! Thursday night at the Gary Owen is the place to be. Food was ok by.pub standards.... The highlight ( believe it or not) was char grilled broccolini! Outstanding . Chips were crispy, fresh and great flavour. Burgers were good.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Garry Owen Hotel is such a welcoming place, especially for families. The staff are friendly, professional, and provide excellent service. The food was superb — fresh, delicious, and great value. Always a pleasure to visit, highly recommend!
