Haberfield Gardens is a park in Haberfield with plenty of shade. Dog access isn't confirmed, but it may be worth checking.

Dog rules

–Inner West Council's "Dog exercise areas" page states: "By law, dogs must be on a leash in public places unless the area is a designated off-leash area." Inner West Council publishes a list of gazetted off-leash areas; this venue is not on that list, so the council's general on-leash rule applies under the NSW Companion Animals Act 1998. A small park but with a fairly impressive and recently renovated playground, great for young families. Great soft-fall covers a large playground with a range of equipment. Water and seating available. No cafes etc nearby so bring food etc!

Nice park for little kids. However, there are quite a few hazards like poor fencing to a busy road and 1.5 m sandstone block wall where they can fall onto a concrete path. Useless pretend wetland has dangerous uneven ground making less room to play.
