Leichhardt is a suburb I’d somehow never visited in 16+ years in Sydney. I finally did today and stopped at La Bottega, a popular cafΓ© on the main street. Easy street parking on a Sunday was a bonus. The menu looked great. I noticed the Google menu photos were out of date, so I’ve uploaded fresh ones. I ordered my usual eggs benedict with bacon. It was excellent - almost perfectly poached eggs, crisp bacon, great hollandaise, and fresh focaccia that tied it all together. The outdoor seating was comfortable with plenty of shade, and the staff were friendly. A few negatives cost them one star: * No cutlery or napkins on the table; we had to ask, and even then didn’t get enough. * Several dishes were mistakenly brought to our table. * The hollandaise portion on my eggs benedict was quite small. * The strawberry thickshake was disappointing - thin, weak flavour, odd texture, and served with a narrow straw. Overall, still a lovely cafΓ© and worth a visit. I’d happily return.

We enjoyed great food and excellent service at La Bottega. They had a good variety of items on their menu and on top of that offer different bread options. The chips was delicious, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, not oily either. We also enjoyed their drinks. The wait staff are service oriented, friendly and professional. It’s rare to find this level of service at cafes these days, we really appreciated their hospitality. Overall an excellent experience. We’d definitely be back again with friends. Highly recommended!

We ate here twice on our three day stay. Pricey, but in line with the area. Meals were large and filling, no one was left hungry. Coffee was good, alcoholic drinks were fun and fresh. Service was amazing, and the staff were not only friendly, but actively lovely to our rag tag crew and we were not made to feel uncomfortable even though we didn't match the vibe/aesthetic of the venue. Special shoutout to Silvia for being so helpful.

A nice start to the day. Always wanted to visit here as I love the fit out and called in spontaneously. I ordered the warm breakfast bowl and was very filling. Coffee was exceptional and service was wonderful! (Love getting called Bella by the kind waitress πŸ’…πŸ») Price of menu reflects the produce.
