The view was really nice and made for a pleasant setting. Unfortunately, the food and drink were a bit disappointing. I ordered poached eggs, but they were overcooked and tasted rubbery. The iced latte was also too milky for my liking and lacked coffee flavour. Hopefully this can be improved, as the location itself is great.
Convenient stop along the Bay run but the food is poor and a huge rip off. I spent about $100 on a coffee, a couple of juices, an avocado toast, bacon and egg roll and a piazza roll. The order took a long time and when it arrived, the drinks and avocado toast were fine but the bacon and egg roll was burned black wothr the egg being old and dry. For the prices they charge, the food should be fresh but this is ridiculous. The piazza roll was nice when I first got it but this time it was in an old burger bun with a 1.5cm blob of provalone on a sausage patty that wasn't Italian and tasted like cardboard. I don't think I'll go again. It's obvious that the quality has dropped and I'm not going to keep paying high end money for food that I have to throw out because I can't feed it to my kids.
This prominently situated cafe on the south side of the bay run circuit appeared to be a relaxing and welcome relief from the hustle of walkers and runners along the bay, but I had mixed feelings about my Monday morning experience. The menu was interesting and quite extensive, and I ordered their plain smashed avo, later realising they have a more sophisticated version which they described as "Italian". My order was taken by a young and seemingly disinterested staff member, which admittedly detracted from the overall experience. The dish didn't take long to prepare, and it was indeed a very plain serving of smashed avocado on toast, albeit quite generous. I definitely should have ordered the Italian version. With such a scenic location and expansive water views, it was clear I had high expectations of this establishment which sadly fell short on this occasion. However I wouldn't rule out visiting Montage Piazza Cafe again, especially because of its location.
We are a party of 3, ordered 2 burger and chips and a poke bowl. The crumb on the chicken was too thick, and the chips tasted old and dry. The poke bowl was the worst! Only 4 thin slices of tuna, and the rice texture was hard (I think it wasn’t fresh and it has been in the fridge), it was also very watery in the plate, which is unpleasant, also it has no flavour.. will I come back, definitely no! The environment was nice, but no service, with that price i expect someone to bring my food out… also lots of dirty tables outside and not enough shades.
