Thomas Park is a dog-friendly park in Blaxland with plenty of shade.
In the Blue Mountains, dogs must be on a leash in all public areas unless in a specifically designated off-leash zone. This venue is not on Blue Mountains City Council's off-leash areas list. (Source: Blue Mountains City Council — Dog off-leash areas, bmcc.nsw.gov.au/dogs.)
Visited the new Thomas Park in Blaxland! The new playground has several swings and obstacles for various ages. Also next to the playground is a mini bike track/circuit with ramps, jumps and obstacles. Downside would be the playground is not shaded so when the sun is beaming it can be quite hot. However there is an undercover shelter with some park benches in the park.
Your average municipal park meant for local residents. While reasonably kept tidy, there's a lot missing except for picnic tables (one covered), rubbish bin, swings, and old-style school jungle bars. No toilets. There's a good number of native trees spread about. No parking in the park. Dogs on leash at all times, supposedly.
Great open space park with a medium sized playground. Picnic tables undercover, no toilets. Good shade coverage.
Very basic park. Atmosphere is a bit gloomy, and the play equipment is below par. Lots of space to run around but a very dry and shady park overall.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
