Cashflow over Conversation Excessive noise in pubs and restaurants is not accidental; it is a deliberate design choice. By eliminating conversation, venues encourage increased drinking to offset discomfort, to the customer’s detriment and the venue’s profit. This is marketed as “atmosphere,” but in practice it excludes anyone who values conversation over forced consumption. I had to leave because before it was time to order food because I couldn't hear the person half a metre away, and I was done shredding my vocal cords to be heard over the din. It's good to hear an increasing number of customers are similarly voting with their feet. I will not be back. Ever. Edited to add: Hi Joel — live music is fantastic. You turn up to hear musicians. A fellow wrestling a console full of other people’s songs is not quite the same thing. Fortunately, we’re not trapped in a false dilemma of hearing damage and predatory marketing versus underwriting the pokies. There are plenty of quiet, family-run restaurants where conversation remains audible, food is the main event, and your ears don’t file a workers’ comp claim. They do just fine on word of mouth, and they'll get mine.

Cool laid back local brewery. Jam packed with happy customers and live music. Great place for a drink and emerse in chill vibe.

What a Venue! A little of the beaten track is this amazing microbrewery and Pizzeria. The service was so friendly from instant greetings treating you like family to amazing recommendations from the staff. Everyone was happy and smilingly and was very welcoming and warming to go into. With such great tasting beer a lot of very good options to choose from! A beer for every taste, and taste is the word to use! But it doesn't stop there! The food was 5 star! Classic authentic food clearly made with love. With happy hour and special deals going this seems to be the place to goto on the beaches! I'm going to have to make this my regular absolutely blown away by everything!

Cool local craft brewery in Brookvale! Nice outside or inside areas, family friendly and good atmosphere. Staff are friendly and laid back.
