Shelly Beach is a beach in Kioloa where dog access has not yet been confirmed — it's worth checking before you visit.
Shoalhaven City Council's Dog Off-Leash Guide states: "Dogs in the Shoalhaven are required to be 'on leash'" unless in a designated off-leash area or dog-prohibited area. This venue is not named in Shoalhaven's off-leash list or prohibited list under D23/519887 (MIN23.740, December 2023), so the council-wide default on-leash rule applies. Dogs must be under the effective control of a competent person at all times under the NSW Companion Animals Act 1998. (Source: Shoalhaven City Council, MIN23.740 / D23/519887.)
Beautiful sandy shoal. There were ample warnings about rip currents but I did not see any. Was there an early December and already the ocean currents had warmed up the shores. Beyond the edge of the immediate beach there’s a vegetated dune separating it from another beach, it would appear that you could walk along for quite some ways.
Not as many shells as I’d expect, unsure why it’s named Shelly beach I came for shells but it’s a stunning quiet beach with an abundance of sand and views. A very private beach
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
