Apex Park
Apex Park is a dog-friendly park in Byron Bay with plenty of shade. Just 100m away, Moonlight Japanese is a great nearby spot to relax with your dog after a walk.
Dog rules
Dogs are welcome on-leash. In this council park dogs must be kept on a lead and under effective control at all times, and droppings must be removed. Byron Shire is an explicit-model LGA: dogs must be on-lead everywhere except council-designated off-leash areas.

What people say
We visited on a Thursday afternoon, such amazing atmosphere. Several buskers playing guitar and singing and they were great. Before 6pm the parking is up to 4 hours in the car park, after 6pm its free. There's toilets and plenty of outdoor showers. Apex Park is Dog friendly on leash further down the beach is also dog friendly but the beach directly in front of Apex Park no dogs allowed. Lots of people stayed to watch the sunset set. We had dinner at No Bones, a vegan restaurant in Fletcher Street, walking distance away also dog friendly highly recommended whether your vegan or not. Then came back to the park to listen to more music. Great night free entertainment.
As at 20th March 2025 they have removed the playground. There are still 2 big swings and 2 baby swings, however the buckles on the baby swings were broken so they're only suitable for older toddlers. If you are looking for a place with plenty of picnic tables this may be good. But parking nearby is pretty hard on the weekends. If you want a playground for little ones, go elsewhere.
Playground is limited with just the 4 swings and a couple of wobbly things for toddlers. The trees provide some shade and there's a BBQ. The adjacent surf lifesaving club has public toilets.
A great spot to stop and look over the bay, and use the facilities. There is a toilet block and playground for the children. Parking is available, which is close to the main streets of Byron.
Great skate Park. Busy on the weekend but ok during the week. Plenty of variety and difficulty.
