Pacific Park
Pacific Park is a small open green space on the edge of Newcastle's CBD with mature trees, ocean views toward Newcastle Beach, and a light-rail stop directly in front of the park. Friday evenings between December and March bring live music, picnics, and food trucks — otherwise it's a quieter spot to sit with a coffee and look out to the water.
Dogs can be off-leash in the designated leash-free area; on-leash applies elsewhere. The 10-metre zone around the playground is dog-free at all times. City of Newcastle patrols leash-free areas, so check signage on arrival for the specific off-leash boundaries.
Dog rules
Dogs must be on a leash at all times in public places unless in a designated leash-free area. Dogs are not permitted on the Memorial Walk or within 10 metres of a playground. Leash-free areas are patrolled and penalties apply for non-compliance. Source: City of Newcastle – Leash Free Areas (newcastle.nsw.gov.au/living/residents/pets-and-animals/leash-free-areas)

Pacific Park Newcastle is a beautiful spot, especially for the views. The ocean scenery is stunning and makes it a perfect place to relax, take photos, or enjoy a peaceful walk. It’s very clean, well maintained, and ideal for families, kids, or anyone wanting to spend some quiet time by the coast. A great place to stop, unwind, and enjoy the natural beauty of Newcastle.
What a great park in the busy city. You can enjoy it a lot here. It's very easy to reach this garden. There is a light rail stop just in front of the garden. So, very easy to come. Again, there is a way to go to the beach from here. If you plan to have a swim or a walk, this would be the first choice.
Love Friday nights at this place between December and end of March they play live music and everyone brings a picnic. Food trucks available. Such a lovely time and for a good cause. Gold coin Donations taken to help feed the hungry. So lovely.
