Dogs must be on a leash at all times in public places unless in a designated leash-free area. Dogs are not permitted on the Memorial Walk or within 10 metres of a playground. Leash-free areas are patrolled and penalties apply for non-compliance. Source: City of Newcastle – Leash Free Areas (newcastle.nsw.gov.au/living/residents/pets-and-animals/leash-free-areas)
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.

The park is very well maintained, with plenty of green space, walking paths, and great views of the water. It’s perfect for picnics, walking, cycling, or just letting kids run around safely. There are good facilities nearby and plenty of space to enjoy without feeling crowded. A great spot to unwind and enjoy the outdoors in Newcastle.
We were there for a Medieval Fair and it was great. Easy to move around, nice location - would do again
Foreshore Footpath is a beautiful place to visit and take a walk along the banks of the Hunter River Newcastle. The area has undergone redevelopment and is most inviting. Pop into any of the many bars and restaurants. Highly recommended.
