The Shed Cafe - Newcastle is a cafe in Newcastle West where dog access has not yet been confirmed — it's worth checking before you visit.
The Shed Cafe in Marketown - pretty disappointing experience overall. There’s essentially no service — everything runs off QR codes on the tables. No greeting when you walk in, no interaction while you’re there, and no acknowledgment when you leave. I get that this is how some places operate now, but a little customer service still goes a long way, especially in a café setting. Ordered the acai bowl and it was a letdown. The granola was so hard and tough it was genuinely unpleasant to eat — if you had dentures, they’d be at risk. It completely took away from what should’ve been an easy win. Coffee was just okay. Not bad, but nothing memorable, and definitely not enough to make up for the rest of the experience. Overall, it was very meh. Average food, minimal effort on hospitality, and plenty of better café options around Newcastle.
Well that was disappointing. Originally I was happy to see so much fruit, but it hid the space where the Acai SHOULD have been. And the sauce was a small dollop when it should have been throughout the bowl. And the sauce (Nutella) was hard 2/3 way through eating. $18 for a rip off. If I'm ever so desperate I might go there again
Amazing food and outstanding service! The team at The Shed are fantastic, they genuinely take the time to offer great suggestions and make every guest feel welcome. The food was absolutely brilliant and served fresh. Highly recommend trying the Carrot Cake, Orange Almond Tart, and their freshly made juices — they’re all delicious! Can’t wait to visit again.
We tried the power bowl and veggie burger both were absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The coffee had a rich, smooth taste, and you can tell they use high-quality beans.
Had lovely Big Breakfast here with fresh juices. Staffs are friendly. We’ll be back. Highly recommended 👍🏼👍🏼 Update: 12.03.2025 yummy Decaf Double Choc Mocha. Carrot cake just ok, it needs more icing and it’s a bit dry.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
