Dixon Park Beach is a coastal reserve at Merewether with a fenced playground, parking and good facilities. Dogs are allowed off-leash in the reserve area under effective control, and are prohibited on the patrolled swimming beach. There is drinking water, toilets and BBQ facilities on hand. A handy off-leash reserve above the sand.

Dog rules

Off-leash is permitted in the designated leash-free area during restricted times only: between sunrise and 9am, and between 5pm and sunset. Dogs must be on-leash at all other times, and are not permitted within 10 metres of a playground.

Plenty of parking, public toilets, barbecues and water refill stations. There is a nice walk along the coast line. Family friendly, since there is a playground for kids. I was lucky to spot a rainbow!

Would have been better if it was closer to home. Why do they always locate beaches right out at the coast.
