We have been wanting to try out these guys for a while now, and today we got our chance. Lunch here with the missus, and what an experience it was! This is a Nepalese restaurant as far as we can tell, quite a few mentions of it in their menu. Licenced too so I ordered a beer with my meal. We were shown to our table by a beautiful young lady and given our menus and complimentary jug of table water, and asked if we'd like to order drinks first up, which we did. Such a lot to choose from on the menus, they do basic dishes as well as large meals, an all day breakfast list and also sharing plates and light meals. I ordered an appetiser called Pani Puri just because I had no idea what it was, and love to try new things, and for mains I ordered the Nepalese Goat curry. The missus is not so adventurous with her food and opted for something safe; Chicken burger with fries and salad. The Pani Puri arrived after only about 10 minutes and was like nothing I've ever tried before, they were like hollow balls filled with veggies and spices and a dipping sauce of spicey cumin flavour, very flavourful and crisp/crunchy, turns out it is a cold dish. I enjoyed it emensly. My Goat Curry was served with jasmin rice and a papadum, wow! Was it tasty! The missus enjoyed her Chicken burger too. Prices were pretty reasonable in my opinion and table service was fast. We will definitely come here again. Absolutely 5 stars for these guys.
An absolute treat in the heart of Albury! If you’re after great coffee and all day breakfast/brunch and lunch, 2014 AD Cafe has got you covered, from the classics to the sweet treats. And if you want to sample the menu of Nepali dishes, you are in for a riot of flavour and great food. The momos (Nepalese dumplings) are to die for and the rice and curry dishes are tasty, hearty and priced to please! The atmosphere inside is warm and friendly. The cafe’s name,2014 AD, relates to the year the proprietors, a beautiful Nepali couple, first met. And you can see that the whole place is a labour of love! Do yourself a favour and eat there soon. And often!
Columbian eggs for breakfast and coffee, sooooo good!!! Good to have interesting options, and the coffee was perfect. Service was also excellent. Came back again, coffee was the best Ive had in years, no joke. Banana porridge was also fab. Great service again, felt really welcome.
