The staff here are so unfriendly. How hard is it to smile or be friendly? Especially in this setting. It's actually really off putting. This used to be my regular coffee place. Won't be coming back here again. Go to La Society instead- coffee is way better and the staff are always friendly.
Today, I ordered 2 poached eggs breakfast/ halloumi with 2 soy lattes. The soy lattes were extremely bitter and disgusting. The poached eggs were put on very dry, hard bread which was difficult to eat. Overall the taste was disgusting. What was worse was the customer service from the 2 Asian ladies who barely knew how to speak English. When I told them about the egg, she didn’t answer me and rudely walked off and didn’t let me know if she’s bringing a fresh order or if I continue eating this. 5 mins later she comes with a small bowl with 1 egg in it and places there with no apology or explanation. My brother had 3 bites of this, and couldn’t handle it anymore. It was so tasteless, dry and disgusting. The table was so dirty and the waitresses made us sit at the table with the dirty dishes and leftover food for a long time before she decides it’s necessary to clean it. Initially before I made my order, I asked the waitress if this is the same quality and taste as what DEGANI was as I notice they rebranded. I was a regular with DEGANI and she assured me the same quality. Therefore, I was shocked by the terrible service, horrible and bitter coffee and inedible food. When I said to her I can’t eat this anymore (3 bites), and I wanted a refund for the food - not the coffee because I drank most of it already, she refused to refund it, saying we ate more than half already, when it's evident from my plate that there was at least 80% of it still there. And the reason I forced myself to have 3 bites was to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I couldn't tolerate it. It was NOTHING like DEGANIS breakfast or coffee. After 10/15 mins of arguing with me, she was reluctant and stubborn to give a refund which btw was not in the same form of payment I gave them. She was incredibly rude about it. Never going back and don't recommend it!
The cafe is always busy, but for good reason. Nice food and coffee in a great location right next to a book shop! And always reasonably quick too especially on busier days. I had to Spanish Omelette which didn’t have mushrooms (not a fan of mushrooms which is why I went for it) and that was very tasty.
I ordered the high protein omelette and a large dirty chai all up 25 dollars. Omelette was very filling. Service was great food was good and dirty chai was perfect. Standard atmosphere for a cafe situated in any mall. Overall pleasant.
The price was affordable. I enjoyed the Dairy Free Mango, Guava and Lychee Frappe and the Sweet Potato Chips with Aioli. As for the Degani Vegetarian Nachos for One, I wasn’t impressed. It was a lot to eat for one person. Plus, there was a lot of fatty cheese in the dish, and little to no sour cream or guacamole. I expected the dish to have the sauce piled on top, not put into a large bowl. Will have to see about revisiting if I am in Narellan.
