Tompson Reserve is a park in Milperra. Dogs are generally allowed on a lead in NSW public parks unless signs say otherwise — but the rules here aren't confirmed, so check local signage before visiting.
Relatively larger sized reserve/park space but with only a small kids playground and barely a basketball court. The small mini basketball half court is what made me do this review as I am hooper who loves reviewing bball courts that I come across in my travels. The positive is that it exists here in the first place as there just aren't that many public facilities for people to shoot hoops - easy to see by the number of portable units in the driveways of many residences all over Sydney. The negatives are that it's barely bigger than the key/lane area so it's not even a proper half court, there are no line markings, the backboard is tiny so your bank shot angles are quite restricted and the ring is not quite regulation (smaller than normal but bigger than a netball one). Anyway, the court itself only gets 1 out of 5 stars just for purely existing, but as it's situated on a largish parkland with an adjoining kid's playground, the reserve itself gets a total score of of 3 out 5 stars.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
