What people say
There's something quite charming about this small park located on a block of land in the middle of a residential area, surrounded by houses, almost like a village square. One would like to think that it's an afternoon meeting spot for all the locals to come have a chat while the kids play on the playground or shoot a few hoops. The small mini basketball half court is what made me write this review as I'm a hooper who loves reviewing bball courts that I come across in my travels. The positive is that it exists here in the first place as there just aren't that many public facilities for people to shoot hoops - easy to see by the number of portable units in the driveways of many residences all over Sydney. The negatives are that it's barely bigger than the key/lane area so it's not even proper half court size, there are no line markings so you need to guestimate where the free throw line and the 3pt line is (definitely in the surrounding grass), the backboard is tiny so your bank shot angles are quite restricted and the ring is actually one intended for netball (smaller ring designed for a smaller game ball) I do applaud the locals who are able to consistently sink shots on this ring as it's definitely very challenging since a proper size 7 ball is approximately 75cm in circumference and 24cm in diameter whereas a netball ring is only 38cm, which is 8cm smaller than a hoops ring. Anyway, the basketball court itself only gets 1 out of 5 stars just for purely existing, but as it's situated on a quaint and lovely piece of park with an adjoining kid's playground, the reserve itself gets an overall total of 3 out 5 stars.
Good park with lots of equipment and grass in a safe great friendly neighbourhood
