By the Bay Cafe & Grill

The Bay cafe was very busy on the day we visited. The staff rearranged seating to accomodate us, all with a smile and it was no issue. Unfortunately they made a mistake with my coffee. I like mine in a cup it tastes better my idiosyncrasy, my hubby prefers his in a takeaway cup even though we are eating in. A staff member stated it wouldnt be long for our food all with smile & an apology. Then in a minute the food arrived it was good. The park surrounds are very shady. A great playground within the park and netted swim area. A lovely area to spend time and enjoy a cuppa however you like it. It also has a takeaway service as an option on the playground side.

Food is okay but the service attitude is not acceptable. A “wooden strip” decorative attachment to wall kept falling and hitting my leg, initially a staff tried to push it back after I asked but it fell again and again later, I asked another old lady staff if she can properly stick it back etc. but the response was “I haven’t got chance to, it is what it is”. Until eventually it fell again and eventually agreed to swap table for me after I repeatedly requesting. As a customer I was the one being disturbed by the thing while dining and it shouldn’t have needed me to beg for solving it, it was not a serious incident but I’m disappointed by the attitude and language of responses, as if I’m a troublemaker.

I dont know of another location in this part of Sydney with such a fantastic view. Such a peaceful place surrounded by nature. Perfect to sit, sip my coffee and journal. Great place for family and friends too. Coffee is perfectly acceptable for this coffee snob and the food is first rate.

We chose to celebrate and thank 30 community volunteers with a breakfast function at By the Bay Cafe. The location is beautiful, the service was excellent and the food was delicious, fresh & plentiful. Communication was excellent and the staff catered to all our needs & requests with professionalism and went the extra mile to make sure we all had a very happy celebration.

We had the pleasure of having our daughters christening last Sunday at By the bay grill and cafe. Not only was the food absolutely delicious but there was so much of it that we were not able to finish it all and had plenty of leftovers. The atmosphere was perfect, we were super lucky to have a beautiful sunny day so were able to take full advantage of the open windows and the lovely breeze that was coming on from the Bay which made us feel like we were outside. A big thanks to Danny and his team who were both friendly and professional, especially Danny who was very flexible with some of our special requests and who went above and beyond to ensure we had a stress free and enjoyable christening.... We even got complementary strawberry and champagne. I most definitely will be hosting other special events here in the future.
