Oat House in Oatley is an excellent spot for a relaxed dine-in brunch, especially if you’re visiting with kids. The venue is large, polished, and clearly well run, with food that really delivers. 🍽️ Food The brunch and lunch menu offers a really interesting mix of Middle Eastern and Australian dishes. Everything we tried was very good, beautifully presented, and reasonably priced for the quality. ☕ Coffee & drinks Probably the only downside was the banana pudding latte, which is promoted as a signature drink but ended up being a bit of a strange combination that didn’t highlight either the coffee or the banana pudding, especially given the high price. I'd stick with regular coffee next time. 😊 Staff Staff were super friendly and very professional, and there were plenty of them on the floor despite the size of the venue. Service felt smooth and well organised. ✨ Decor & atmosphere The space is really well decorated, very modern, and nails a simple but elegant look. It feels bright, calm, and comfortable even when busy. 📍 Location & parking It’s right in the centre of Oatley’s 2nd High Street, with lots of street parking nearby and an easy, convenient setup for a casual visit. 🧒 Kid-friendly Exceptionally kid-friendly, with highchairs, a solid kids’ menu, and an outstanding outdoor play space at the back. If you’re lucky enough to get one of the picnic tables, you can sit and eat while the kids play right beside you, which is a huge plus. 🪑 Space & seating There are loads of tables both inside and outside, so it never feels cramped and can comfortably handle families and larger groups. The visit was really great, and it’s a place I’d happily return to regularly, especially with kids.

Based on previous and recent reviews I may have had a unique experience but I can definitely say that I would not return to this place ever again. I am not a local to Oatley but my friend was so she suggested to go based on feedback from another friend, I love trying new places so was all for it however from the moment I walked in I wanted to immediately leave and find a new place to dine. I walked in and greeted the woman at the front with a smile and a hello and was looked up and down and met with a reply of “do you wanna sit at the back” no smile, no friendly customer service, just a blunt straight face reply. I did go with my son so I assumed that’s just why she said that, I nodded and we walked in to find a table. I was immediately uncomfortable and it only really got worse, all of the staff on the floor were unfriendly and very inattentive, the customer service was not there that today at least towards myself and I had never felt more uncomfortable in my life at a RESTAURANT. The food we ordered was not up to the standard of the price but I understand everyone’s taste is different, I would highly recommend steering away from the chicken pops on the kid menu because it was overcooked and had zero flavour, tasted like cardboard, my son barely touched it. The dolmades were not fresh or at least not made that day. The burrata was good and pita was ok. Pappardelle was okay just not my cup of tea. We stayed long as my son really enjoyed the outdoor area but even then after being their for 4 hours the staff never once came up to use to ask if we would like dessert/drinks or anything at all. The duration we stayed was not a reflection of the staff but of the outside area that my son throughly enjoyed and again the staff were absent. The only good experience we had was with the male that was working that day who was quite friendly upon us leaving and paying. All in all, most of the staff and their service definitely ruined my personal experience of this place and would suggest to avoid if you’re coming from WS.

Spacious cafe with good menu and a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. This place is massive. It is kid friendly and a good fit for events. Able to accommodate a lot of people. The service was relatively quick and efficient. European fusion food. They have good coffee too. Plenty of space for kids to play outside.

Your experience was excellent in many aspects. First, the food is very delicious, looks nice, and has the spirit of the place. Also, the service is excellent, and the colors and decor are very comfortable. Also, as a mother, I visited it with my children and my friends with their children. The idea of the play area was very wonderful, and the place gave me a comfortable time to eat, relax, and have comfortable conversations with my friends.

Been there several times now and the food and coffee is amazing, full of flavour 🤤 if you're a coffee and food snob, you will not be disappointed. Love the octopus, rice stuffed capsicum and the spicy prawn linguine.
