Colquhoun Park is a dog-friendly park in Granville with plenty of shade. Just 600m away, Coffee & chaos is a nearby spot to stop in after your walk.
Dogs are permitted on-leash under the NSW Companion Animals Act. Cumberland City Council's Companion Animals Policy states dogs must be under effective control and on a leash in all public places except designated off-leash parks. Dogs are prohibited within 10 metres of playgrounds, food preparation areas, sports fields, school grounds, and wildlife protection areas. This venue is not a designated off-leash park. Colquhoun Park is a great place to take kids to the playground. It is also a great place to bring a ball and kick it around or play basketball with it or to have a picnic with friends and family. I believe the Cumberland council should consider adding some picnic table and chair and a barbecue area to the park and also a dog park for the dogs to run around in.
The park looks like it been renovated recently as everything look new and clean. The park has a picnic area where you can cook your food On-site barbecues. There are a public toilet and drinking water fountain. Kids playground and new cricket nets and walking trails.
As far as soccer fields go, this is probably the most budget ground you will come across. There is one field among a vast open pasture. There are no kiosk facilities, and seating is in these dank little wrought-iron sheds reminiscent of a sheres shed commonly found in country Australia. I would recommend taking a camping chair with you for comfort. There seems to be some beutification works going on where the remains of what I assume is the old kids' play area. The good news is that they are upgrading the kids' playground. The main field is located opposite a basketball/netball court and another large field. There is a concrete waiting track that circles the grounds. There are changerooms for each team and toilets, abliet very dingy, and off the beaten track behind the fields. There are cricket nets that are in good condition, and the grass is quite well kept. Overall, as soccer ground, it just doesn't live up to expectations. Could you take the kids there for lunch or picnic, sure. The grounds are more suited to unorganised recreation as opposed to organised competition sports.
Large park where soccer and cricket is played. Several park benches. Some with shade. Off street parking. Playground equipment for the kids. Crickets nets. Public toilets only open when there are official sporting events at the park.
The main park is well maintained, with an excellent condition cricket pitch and play area for kids. There’s a bubbler and several benches available. Didn’t find a bathroom on the visit unless it’s that rundown dingy shack that we didn’t go near. There’s an offshoot small playground near the large sewer which is not that well maintained.
