Pidding Park is a fenced oval that functions as an off-leash area when not being used for organised sport. The fencing makes it a secure option for dogs that need containment, and there's shade around the edges. Waste bags, bins, toilets, and parking are all available. It's a straightforward space — nothing fancy, but the fencing and size make it more useful than many unfenced alternatives.
Designated off-leash area — dogs may be off-leash when the area is not in use for organised sport (see on-site signage for boundaries). Dogs must be under the control of a competent person, return to handler on command, and be on-leash when entering and leaving the off-leash area. Maximum 4 dogs per person. Dogs must be kept 10 metres from bushland areas and children's playgrounds. (Source: City of Ryde — Dog Off-Leash Areas, ryde.nsw.gov.au.)
Cricket oval with an artificial turf pitch. Used as a soccer pitch during winter. A lot of dogs come as the park is fenced and they can be off leash. Avoid coming earlier during summer time as there is cricket training.
Huge grassed area that is fully fenced. Perfect for off leash dogs as it is a huge area and is. If enough to be able to avoid other dogs if need be. There are bins provided to put poo bags in and a parking lot. The down side is that it is not dog friendly on the weekends.
Great place to take your dog during the week, plenty of fenced space and always few other dogs for yours to play with... There's also a lot of shaded areas for the dogs that don't like the heat and there's couple of water taps and bowls by the clubhouse, so your furry friends can stay hydrated and exhaust their excess of energy. During the weekends there's football being played, so it's better to go elsewhere while that's happening.
This is more for soccer fields than a park. There is some equipment for little kids. Parking is limited and you could end up parking in the cemetery across the road. Field surface is very ordinary, not flat and concrete cricket pitch through the middle.
We check council regulations, official sources, and community reviews to verify dog access at every venue. Access may change — always check on-site signage. Something wrong or missing? Submit feedback. How it works.
