I have made a booking to have a Xmas lunch with friends at 12pm today and we arrived at 11.50am and saw that the place wasn't set up yet, so we waited. Mind you we were waiting at 39°C heat outside. Ten minutes have passed and there was no signs of anyone inside the bar setting up the place so we decided to see if the door was open. It was open, and we peeped inside to see a guy who looked so puzzled and confused. He was on his phone and apologised and told us he is not sure where the rest of the staff were and he was trying to get in contact with them. He asked if we could come back a little later but we asked if we could sit inside in the aircon while we wait. He was so lovely despite feeling defeated and not knowing what to do, he offered us canned soda drinks for the time being. Five minutes later another staff arrived and what happened next was so appalling, we were pretty much turned off from it. This was our first time here at Neobar and we booked this weeks in advanced and we were looking forward to trying something new. The staff had asked us to leave because she felt that she could not have the place set up with us inside, and blamed him for not knowing what to do after she arrived 15mins after our booking. It wasn't an option or nor was it asked if we would be okay for them to set up around us (which we wouldn't have mind since it was scorching hot outside) or any offer for the lack of customer service. She suggested we go else where to have coffee instead and come back... ??? Yea... no... I can tell that she was trying her hardest to be polite about it but we could sense frustration coming from her and first impression means a lot and this will be our last. We were happy to leave and not come back. Obviously there is some concerns around poor time and team management, lack of hospitality and inadequate trained staff during operating hours.
I like their drinks (especially the ube one) and oyster deals. However, I find their normal food to be quite below average. The sashimi tacos were mainly avocado but it was not spread out well so I would get mouthfuls of avocado, it would be better if the filling was combined better. Service is a little slow considering they’re not busy but not the worst.
Visited last weekend for bottomless brunch and it was so worth it. For only $88 per person, it came with food, desserts and unlimited drinks. The cocktails are all asian flavour inspired and super unique. You have to try the Mango Bae—it’s ube deliciousness in a glass.
Came here on a Sunday for bottomless brunch, food plater was delicious. Oysters were fresh and the cocktails were yummy as usual. Good local spot for drinks with good wings to go with.
I came here for a private event and was blown away by the amazing and unique cocktails. They have happy hour specials such as $1 oysters which is a steal. The mango ube cocktail is super delicious!!
