What people say
Ordered one hot and one cold coffee. Was surprised when there was a Sunday surcharge charged. After enquiring about why there was no signage, a sign was produced from Under the counter. Person who was in charge, appeared aggressive and talked over the top of me. She stated I was the aggressive one which was not true. Another manager came to our table and apologised for situation and gave our surcharge refund back. Truly happy to pay a surcharge but like to be pre warned Coffee was lovely and setting was delightful. Wish I could say the same for the one staff member!!!
Have never felt so unwelcome in any establishment I’ve ever eaten at. Now check my reviews we as a family eat out a lot! Here’s what happened and I’d love the owner to call any of this out!! Or maybe just apologise for the restaurants reprehensible behavior. Upon entry there wasn’t a welcome or greeting which I picked up on immediately but brushed it off. People have reasons and you can’t get hung up on every little thing. I wasn’t told it was counter service nor was I offered menus. My family chose a table that had just been vacated out front. Only table left outside and had dishes from the previous guests. I watched the staff clean every other table in the restaurant expect ours. We had to go ask to have it cleaned. Again we proceeded to wait. Again went back to the counter to ask if table service or order at counter when the owner said oh have you got menus yet? You just wiped our table down you KNOW we don’t have menus. I was born in this country of Mediterranean decent and yes my family and I are quite dark skinned. I have never in my 47 years in Australia experienced racism. Honestly I thought all the media hype was bull, just a media blow up. But today for the first time in my life I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. Extremely upsetting to have experienced it. I want to say it’s just in my mind it’s not real it’s just a very few outlyers that act this way. But I paid very close attention to the way the other people in the restaurant were treated. Very different to us. This restaurant and owner need to check their unconscious bias. You have it you’re a racist and I hope you find beauty in all humanity, someday.
Lovely location across from the reserve. Great menu on offer. Beautiful coffee. Tasty food. Friendly staff. Loved sitting outside but there’s also an open dining space inside too
Great for a quick drink (or a slow one if you prefer) and a bite to eat . Try the breakfast deal of lots of bacon and egg on Turkish roll with a hot drink for $14.. yummo. Quick, efficient friendly staff. Forgot to take a food photo, but an empty plate still tells a story.
Went for coffee and it was nice, compared to other cafes around. The menu looked quite good too. Wished had meal from there but better luck next time. Definitely good place for coffee.
